A small field guide
This is an educational simulation of Git’s core ideas, adapted from Gitvana’s command-puzzle format. It does not run a shell, create real repositories, or implement every Git option.
1. Work
Edit a file with the workbench or echo. Nothing is saved to a commit yet.
2. Stage
git add copies the current file content into the next snapshot.
3. Commit
git commit -m "message" records the staged snapshot and advances your branch.
4. Branch & merge
Try a separate line of work, switch back, then bring it together.
Type commands and Enter, or tap a pocket command and Run. ↑/↓ recall commands. Undo reverses one action. Inspection commands are free. All trails are available for practice. Three leaves for meeting par, two for up to two extra actions, otherwise one. Hints cost no leaves. Progress stays in this browser when storage is available.
Plain file and branch names only. No directories, remote commands, command chaining or downloads. Switching requires a clean working folder. Merge conflicts must be edited, staged and committed.
